Best highway routes for Saturday arrivals

If you are arriving Saturday, please allow plenty of time for weekend and construction traffic. Known delays have been occurring in all these directions:

  • Southbound 101 at Prunedale (always congested; stop and go)
  • Southbound 101 at King City (construction; hit or miss)
  • Westbound 41 between Atascadero and Morro Bay (construction or accidents; hit or miss)
  • Southbound 1 between Cayucos and Morro Bay (single lane)
In other words, leave plenty of extra time for the drive, or better yet, consider entering Morro Bay via Northbound Highway 1 from San Luis Obispo. People driving from Los Angeles direction will use this route anyway. People driving from the Bay Area or Salinas Valley would need to add 5-10 minutes to their normal Morro Bay drive but would be much less likely to encounter delays.

Food for thought anyway...

Clothing Tips

We totally understand your concern and confusion, but we also believe in you and your decisions! Trust us when we say that the range of outfits will be broad. Confirmed reports of suits, and confirmed reports of nice jeans with a nice shirt. Anywhere in between works just fine, as long as you are warm and comfortable. Like we mentioned previously, Morro Bay can get cold, though we're hoping for a sunny afternoon. As for our comfy footwear recommendation, don't worry, this will NOT be Stage 1 of the Amazing Race, but it will not be a walk in the park either. Wait, hold on, "a walk in the park" might actually be the perfect analogy, both weather and distance-wise. Just don't wear heals. And have a light jacket handy. Like you would for a walk in the park.

One month to go!

We went grocery shopping yesterday and couldn’t help but notice the cheese products were all due to expire AFTER our wedding day. Does cheese have an exceedingly long shelf life or is our wedding like really, really soon?

[SPOILER ALERT]

It's really soon. And get it? Spoil? (credit: Alana)

With exactly one month to go, we thought it was time for an update. If you haven’t checked out the website in a while, go ahead and start clicking around. There’s a new FAQ tab that should be helpful if our invitation left you feeling a little confused. We’ve also added a "Registry" page for all you overly generous people to check out, although we want to stress that gifts are not expected :).

Beyond the website additions, we wanted to advise everyone to bring a jacket on Saturday! Morro Bay is known for unpredictable weather and cools down quickly even on warm days.

Finally, we’d like to invite you all to a light, post-wedding breakfast on Sunday morning at our house! We know that so much of Saturday will be a whirlwind, and we’d love to have another opportunity to see you before you head back home. No RSVP needed; simply swing by 361 Dunes from 9-11am for a pastry and a coffee before you hit the road. We'll have to-go cups, so don't be afraid to dine and ditch in a matter of minutes.

30 days! Can you believe!!

xoxo,
Alana and Sean

Rooms still available at Harbor House Inn

Sean just checked with the lovely Laura at Harbor House Inn who said a number of discounted rooms remain available as of August 16th. If all king rooms are booked, she can likely discount the two-queen rooms a little more if you ask (YMMV "your mileage may vary").

For more info about lodging, air travel, and other details, see the "Wedding Details" page.

Paper Invitations in 2022?

Well, if you didn't know, we've been traveling in Asia since early June, which partially explains why you have yet to receive a wedding invitation. Don't worry, the big event is still a go!

Until further notice, the basic information remains the same:

  • Date: Saturday, October 8th
  • Time: 3:30pm-10:00pm
  • Place: Morro Bay, CA
If you are booking flights or hotels, please note that kids will be lightly discouraged, but if finding a sitter is a dealbreaker to your attendance, please reach out to us to discuss further!

Stay tuned to your email and text in late July for a more official message from Sean and/or Alana.

Looking forward to seeing you all in person soon,

Sean & Alana
